An annual and interdisciplinary publication, Renaissance Drama invites submissions that investigate traditional canons of drama as well as the significance of performance, broadly construed, to early modern culture. We particularly welcome essays that examine: the impact of new forms of interpretation on the study of Renaissance plays, theater, and performance; the cultural discourses that shaped and were shaped by drama and the institutional conditions in which it was produced; and the way that performance and performativity functioned both on and off the professional stage.
New submissions for volume 37 are now being accepted.
All manuscripts should follow the stylistic guidelines of The Chicago Manual of Style (15th edition), including endnote reference citations. Please submit copies of your manuscript saved as an electronic file attachment (either as richtext, an rtf file, or as a Word file) to:
