Joanna Lipking (Ph.D. Columbia University) teaches seventeenth and eighteenth-century English literature and comic forms of all periods, and has a special interest in writings by women.  She is editor of the Norton Critical Edition of Aphra Behn's Oroonoko and author of essays on Behn and other early women authors.  She currently works on the way early generations of women poets made the transition from manuscript to print.
