Faculty Advisors
The English Literature Major does not assign students to specific advisors. Instead, five or six members of our faculty (changing from year to year) are designated as Student Advisors, and are specifically available to help you during office hours. During the week prior to Pre-Registration, our "Advising Week," faculty advisors will hold 2 additional hours of office hours each. All this information, including contact information and office number, is included in the tables below. If current information doesn't seem to be available, please inform the Undergraduate Program Assistant right away. Updates should be in place within a week or two of the beginning of the following quarter.
Though only the Director of Graduate Studies can sign a Declaration of Major/Minor form, any of the advisors
Of course, this system is not meant to restrict you from striking up a student/advisor relationship with an unlisted faculty member if you so choose. These are simply the professors who make themselves especially available (and have current information on the major/minor at hand) to help you with any problems you might be encountering. These are also the faculty with whom you are expected to meet, and whose signature you need to get, when you're filling out your Petition to Graduate forms at the end of your Junior year, and who can help with the Major Worksheet that needs to accompany the Petition.
